103

This class does not have many wrestlers, 7 varsity wrestlers in all. I think the seed will hold true and you will see Brown (OG) and Williams (EL) in the final. I see Brown hanging on for a tight win.

112

The 112 pound weight class has been weak at many tournaments this year. Again at StC we see the trend continue. The question is where is Heavlin (HC)? I’m not familiar with the out of OVAC teams, but this is all a guess anyways. With that said I see Brown (OG) out of the bottom pool, I’ll take Brett MacIver (Wms) by record alone 10-3. A dark horse if he can make the weight, and is healthy look for Riggle (EL). I’m a homer and I think MacIver is a freshman; I will go with the sophomore. Brown (OG) in a close win.

119

Foster (EL) as a senior and a finalist in this tournament the last two years should win the top pool. Should be a nice match between Pate (HC) and Crosier (Barn) in the top pool. Yockey (StC) has a deceiving record at 4-3. Kelly (Wms) was a finalist at 103 last year. I think Foster (EL) will win big over either opponent in the finals.

125

Nolte (StC) is 7-0 and took 3rd place here last year at the same weight. Zide (Wms) has a bunch of wins but I see Nolte win a solid win, to get into the finals. Mercer (EL) 10-1, (that one loss to AZ Miller (BvL) is on a roll this year. I see him beating Koper (OG). The finals could go either way. but I will go with the older Nolte, in a very close match.

130

Callarik (StC) should walk through the top pool with no problems. Brown (Tall) is tough, shown by his final match loss to Ryan Asbury (OG) 5-2 last year. The final here should be a dandy. Callarik at home wins a close one.

135

Jacob Milam (Lib) State Runner-up 130 last year is the top seed in the upper pool. Trevor Coffman (HC) is 7-0, and Edward Nogay (WM) should not be over looked. Churchill (OG) and Ours (EL) should be a great match to watch, and will be very important for OVAC seeding. I’ll give Churchill the nod with his schedule being tough. I see Milam winning this title. Milam, Coffman, Churchill, Nogay, Ours, and Stickley (Shen) are all quality wrestlers. This is a solid weight

140

This weight has 3 wrestlers with winning records. Paolo (OG) is the head of this class and should not be challenged in his pool or the finals. I see the final in the other pool with Castello (Barn) defeating Milam (Lib).

145

Hasley (Mar) 10-0 was also a 4th placer last year @ 135 is the favorite in the top pool I see him beating McGill (OG) to get in the finals. Endres (Dov) placed 6th last year @ 135 beat Ours (EL) to get into placement in OT.  Ortiz (HC) should not be over looked. Hasley has an easy 1st day and wins in the finals.

152

It looks like on paper to be the hardest and one of the deepest weight classes in the tournament. Prezzia (StC) 8-0 is a returning Champion (up 3 weight classes) with a 3-1 decision over Paolo (OG) last year. Wells (OG) and Morris (EL) should be a good match, neither will challenge Prezzia. George (Wms) took 3rd   @135 last year,  Jefferis (Barn) is the returning champion to this weight. I see Jefferis over powering George in the bottom pool. The final match should produce the MVW as well. I think Prezzia has wrestled a very hard summer schedule and it pays off here.

160

Crooks (Barn) 10-0 is the favorite in this weight. I don’t see him having a problem getting into the finals. I think he will wrestle Eddy (HC) 7-0 in the finals and will win in controlling fashion.

171

Max Nogay will have his 1st match of the season at the Beast Value Inn Tournament.  He has the talent, but what kind of wrestling shape is WM in after winning a State Championship in football? Kaiser (HC) a 3rd place OVAC finisher at 160 last season will test Nogay early. Dodd (Shen) is also a solid wrestler in the upper pool. If Nogay is in Shape he is my favorite if not Kaiser will pick up a big win. In the bottom pool Johnson (Dov) 11-0 was a runner up @ this weight last year. Board (Wms) 13-0 was 3rd @ 160 a year ago. Throw in Snider StC and Zimmerman (OGx) looks to be a very solid weight. The final will be Johnson vs Nogay, I’ll go with Johnson over a tried Nogay. This weight could also have a shot at the MVW.

189

Greathouse (OG) 7-1 should breeze through the top pool. Greathouse was 6th last year @ 215. Rumbold (Tall) 6-1 competed at 285 last year at the Best Value Inn tourney! I’m thinking this will be the final match judging these two are now wrestling at there regular weights. Greathouse is a very good technique wrestler at 189 I see him winning.

215

NO returning placers at 215 should be a wide open weight. I really don’t know much about any of these wrestlers. I guess I choose Davis (OG) in the top Pool. Don't over look Shurina (HC) in the bottom half. He has a one point loss to Great house this year.

285

Eckroth (HC) is on a roll from last years state placement. He has also beaten VanDyke (OG) 6-1. Eckroth wins the top pool over McGaughery (WM). The Bottom pool should be an interesting match up between battle tested VanDyke (OG) and State Runner-up Acord (Lib) 12-0. I don’t know anything about Acord, but I will pick him in a close match. I pick a fresh Eckroth with a small win over Acord.
