WLU Workouts

West Liberty University will be hosting workouts for wrestlers grades 5-9, from 6:30-8 PM every Wednesday beginning this week, April 14th. We will break workouts down in the following manner: 6-6:30-Instruction, 6:30-7-Drilling, and 7-7:30-Live & Conditioning.

We are expecting to draw some of the elite MS aged wrestlers in the Valley and the surrounding area--western PA included. Workouts will be held in the wrestling room in Blatnik Hall, two buildings up past the football field. Our facility is second to none in the Valley. Myself and current WLU wrestlers will be conducting workouts. They will be free of charge for the first few weeks (up 'til Tournament of Champions), then depending on turnout, we may expand to two days per week. Parents are welcome to watch workouts or they can go across street to the Student Union and hang out while child works out.

There has been an expressed interest in some freestyle being taught. We plan to get input from parents in attendance and adjust the practices accordingly. We will accommodate those showing up weekly, and we have the staff to do so.

Any questions, contact me, Coach Davis, at (304) 218-8802.

 Shadyside youth open mats:
Shadyside will have youth open mats on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm in the wrestling room. We will wrestle 2 nights a week until the Tournament of Champions then probably go one night a week all summer. Right now we are loaded in 70lb weight class. We have many Ohio State Placers in our room.

Welcome to OVAeC Wrestling!

(Ohio Valley Athletic ex Coach) The purpose of this web site is to promote O.V.A.C. wrestling and the individuals that make it all possible. I don't proclaim to know everything about the
O.V.A.C.'s or wrestling, but I have coached in the O.V.A.C.'s for the past 8 years so I do have some knowledge of the sport, coaches and the wrestlers(2002).
