“The Clash” All-Star Wrestling Meet

Site: East Liverpool High School, East Liverpool, Ohio

Date: March 11th

The Thirteenth Tri-State “Clash of Champions” post season high school wrestling meet pitting All-Stars from Pennsylvania’s Midwestern Athletic Conference (MAC) against All-Stars from the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) is on tap for The Potter Field House on Tuesday March 11.

This event was the brainchild of then Potter wrestling coach, Nick Trombetta, and his high school coach and mentor, Ed Driscoll, at Quigley Catholic in Baden, PA and was first held in 1988. Coach Driscoll continues in his capacity as meet director.

The location alternates between a MAC school and an OVAC school each year.

This has traditionally been a lineup of outstanding amateur wrestling talent, provided with an opportunity to showcase their abilities against quality opponents.

The series record currently stands at OVAC – 12 and MAC – 5.
